North West Government Funded courses available with £800 payment!!

Hi,

There is government funding for you to complete two courses, one of which will be the functional skills and then a choice of a further qualification. These further qualifications include QCF Assessors qualification, Level 3 Award in a Education and Training or Fleet qualification.

The course starts on 14th May and by attending you will also qualify for a government initiative payment of £800 to attend. If anyone is interested then give me a call on 07798888936 or email me on jamie.i.stewart78@live.co.uk

Is it just me who thinks that this sort of funding, it the above is correct, is a waste of taxpayer's money?

Functional skills, or basic maths and English.  If an ADI hasn't already got these skills they couldn't pass the ADI exams.   It certainly is a scandalous waste of taxpayers money.

Like everything else these 'basic skills' as you called them can get out of date. These qualifications are the equivalent to GCSE or A Level grade. So consider those who could do with refreshing and therefore help those around them? The government, quite rightly want too up skill this countries foundation skills and get people up to a current level. It is education and more money actually needs to be put into education!

This money is intended to help the unemployed to get basic qualifications which will help them get a job, not a handout for qualified self employed people.

As for basic skills becoming out of date, it's many years since I went to school but I can still add two plus two, and read a newspaper.

Not everyone can and surely they should have the same chance as anyone else to improve themselves and be better equipped. it is negative opinions blatantly outlayed in public forums that put honest people off using them for what they are intended for.

Those who are making loadsa money from selling the courses would tend to say that.

You have no idea about the financial side and would appreciate if you could keep quiet now when all I am doing is offering people a chance to get some CPD for this business.

Hi hayjay2112,
What is your connection to the course that you are promoting?

Re: North West Government Funded courses available with £800 payment!!

I have attended one of these courses. I consider myself fairly well qualified, yet myself and others on the course were surprised at what they learnt.

I have attended other funded qualifications previously and also benefitted greatly and the courses are aimed at the self employed not the unemployed.

The fact that ADIs can gain a qualification and CPD whilst also receiving a financial incentive is a bonus and one that doesn't come around too often. I have also paid into the education system for 40 years, so for me to take time out of my work and receive a financial incentive is a welcome change from my taxes going to fund the those who may have never paid into our education system.

So how long is this course if it is the equivalent of a GCSE or an A level. Months or years?

Anyone can enrol in a course to brush up or improve their skills. Colleges are crying out for people to go on courses. It's the government (tax payers) apparently helping to fund these courses that I object to. If I decide to go on a course to 'improve' myself will you help me to pay for it?

Can you tell me how long these courses last please?

I hope someone attending a course would learn from it, but as a self employed person I think you should pay for your course, not others through tax.

What qualification can an ADI gain through one of these courses? Can I ask how you have paid into the educational system for 40 years, do you mean through the tax you pay?

Thanks for this.

Surely if these courses are similar to the ones being sold above, I don't see how they can be described as GCSE or A level standard then.

So do you know how much these 3 day courses cost the ADIs?

Re: North West Government Funded courses available with £800 payment!!

The ones I know about cost the ADI  nothing, they get a 800 quid handout for passing.   Please look at my post in the private section for some more info on this.

I've obviously failed the intelligence test again !  What is the private section?

So, just to clarify, a qualified ADI goes on a short (3 day ish) course and gets £800 of tax payer's money for doing so!
