Green Paper Postponed indefinitely.

http://www.driving.org/news/2014/01/06/ … tmCffvLeos
The Government have been working on a ‘Green Paper’ to advocate the changes which they would like to see to the training of new drivers. The DIA were asked to make an appearance at the DfT in August to put forward our views as to what the proposals should contain.

This was to be made public after the convening of Parliament, but was delayed until the end of the year.

It is now apparent that this has been postponed indefinitely, much to our annoyance, but we will be chasing at the heels of the DVSA and the DfT to get this back into the public eye as soon as we can.

Excellent news, the Government meddles in too much.

Re: Green Paper Postponed indefinitely.

Hi
If that Green paper is published it will be the 5th or 6th one, since I started instructing, with a title using the words "New Driver " or "Modernising Driving instruction" or "New Driver Training" or some combination of various of these words.
I think the first one followed something called the MacDonald report.

I think the MoT as it was back then, the DoT and DoE that it became in the interim and now the DfT; just like to play "moving the deck chairs around on the Titanic".
