Is it still popular?

Coaching again!!!!!! yes i know boring but. Just over 12 months ago there was much talk and hype over this new buzz word and that DSA would be making "coaching" compulsary within check tests towards the end of 2012 and as a result many courses were set up charging people huge ammounts to attend. There are just 5 months left of 2012 and as of yet no movement or changes afoot regarding compusalry coaching, in fact there is no longer any talk of coaching, so could those of us (and there were many)who predicted it would not happen possibly have been correct or do you still believe it will become compulsary by the end of 2012 or indeed ever. big_smile

Re: Is it still popular?

DSA have never said it would become compulsory by end of 2012, in fact the trials on ccl which have been conducted by DSA over the last 2 years are not complete yet
so I don't know  where this came from. It's true to say that examiners are encouraging it on check test but certainly not enforcing it.

I was told by a very senior examiner who's is involved with the trials that it is not the intention of DSA to make it compulsory ever because ccl cannot be used with everyone because some pupils will just resist it and just want to be told everything by the ADI, so it's a case of using whatever method suits the pupil and the situation, maybe a mixture of several methods on a lesson and that's what the examiner will probably be looking for on check test.

How many instructors can there be who don't do exactly that already?

I was also told the same and also informed by (possibly) the same examiner (N R)  that he didnt understand why coaching courses were being ran at the moment when nothing is or has been confirmed regarding CCL.

People just post on here what they believe to be true because they hear it in TCs or they are made to believe it by the people selling the courses.
