I know this has been posted before, but on reading the thread I could not find the answer I need. For my own reasons I want to attend a taxi training course which the DIA used to run. Now they do not do these courses anymore does anybody know who does, many thanks

Are you sure they've stopped presenting this course? Although it doesn't appear to be advertised on their web site I would try phoning them to ask - I'm sure they would schedule another course if there were enough interested parties.
I still don't think it is worth the money!
Where are you situated in the country? Perhaps if there are some trainers who presented the course they would put one on independently?

Thank you for your replies the DIA did run one as I was booked in to attend when it was cancelled, due to lack of response, the last one they ran was when I was on holiday, and they said that it was the last one they were going to do. I live in Hertfordshire, South East, may thanks

Just a thought here...
... why does nobody else offer this course?

why does nobody else offer this course?
Because there's no demand?

The reason that I want to attend a course is to be able to teach London black cab drivers to use wheelchair ramps etc, this wasnt covered when I trained to be an ADI, so need the course, expertise and certificate, so wish I could find someone who knew something

When I did the DIA course, we were shown how they should be securing the wheelchairs. However, it was stressed that the course only entitles us to assess how they're doing it - not to teach them in the first place.

Why not book a black cab for half an hour and see how the ramps fit and how the wheelchair is secured? I'm sure half an hour of a cabbies time would be better value that the ridiculous fee the DIA want to give you info - most of which you already have / is in ADI1.

Supposedly the Pass Plus pack includes all the information, but how many instructors do not know what to do.
Why do we have to continue to put the boot in.

What has Pass Plus to do with teh price of grapes? and, since when has a different opinion to yours been classed as 'putting the boot in' Keith?
Look, you obviously thought the course was reasonably priced and you received useful info. That's great, hopefully it has stood you in good stead. Others have managed to put the info from the course to good use too. Are you suggesting that I should keep quiet because I think the price to members is much too high? For info that is readily available from free publications?
