Help! --- Failed part 3 for 2nd time

Hi everyone,

I'm sure this has been covered many times but just failed my part 3 for the 2nd time (2/4), the first time (3/3)

On a pink licence and have been for around four half months. I have had a good trainer, am busy with referred pupils but brain goes to mush when sitting next to SE

Feel there is little to be gained by having any more lessons with current trainer but don't really know where to go from here. Help please if anyone can advise :---

1)  Pink licence expires in around a month, so do I try to get extension or just go for the 3rd try in the next 4 weeks ?

2) Problem there is I was made redundant around 5 months after I started the whole Part 1/Part 2 process, so any failure will mean starting again in February 2013 -- not a great option for a family man with the usual responsibilites

3) My other (and currently preferred option) is to find someone local to Reading area who can spend some emergency time with me in the next month & go for the Part 3 again this month

Any advice? Is there anyone local (or even reasonably distant) who could help me -- step forward please!

Hi CaptainFantastic, I know a trainer in the Reading area - she trained me - let me know if you want the number.

Why not try and get a second Pink for another 6 months .Then book your test at the end of this time. DON'T rush into the Part 3 test . Take extra training from another Trainer.

Hi captain, sorry to hear your news. I would echo what DS has said and also advise that you you get in touch with your examiner, when he/she gave you your feedback as to why you were not successful that feedback is very rarely listened to or understood as you are to disapointed with the result to listen. Asking the examiner for 10 mins of his/her time is perfectly allowable and encouraged by some examiners and by speaking to the examiner now you will be in a far better position to take on board your reasons for not being succesful on this occassion, ask your trainer to go along with you.

I don't know which area you are in, but we run a free session for PDIs to drop in alternate Saturday mornings, the next one is 7th April, it may be beneficial to chat with others who are going through the part three exam process. It is a nerve racking process being in an exam situation and there are things you can do to tackle that.

Re: Help! --- Failed part 3 for 2nd time

If it is of any help I run various one day classroom sessions that have helped 100's of instructors gain there badge. This course shows you quite simply how to use the core comps and what the examiner is looking for. We will settle your nerves as well. They are very cheap and if you are interested then email me at dave@drivertrainingeducation.co.uk the bad side is they will either be in Exeter or Poole however I have had people travel from Birmingham, Oxford and a few even further.

Look at my websites and see what you think and I think you will agree this is my 'specialist chosen subject'

Lilly it says in his post where's he is from
marconi i dont think he is bothered only posted once and not been back on. Some people pay a lot for a adi course and dont see the need to pay more as they expect the course provider to do the lot. Nice to see you back even if its only to get some work.

Re: Help! --- Failed part 3 for 2nd time

Hi

I often poke my head in to have a look but normally when I poke my head above the parapet there is always someone trying to shoot at me. Not that I mind. I really do wish I had more tme to come on the forum but I tend to spend too much time working and not enough running the business.

Will try to pop in more
