Re: help with advertising

im going to be using http://www.apple.com/ilife/iweb/ although not sure how this rates with Google and W3C

Hi, I used iweb to build and maintain my site (http://www.appledriving.co.uk) - iweb is great but be warned it will not customise for google (ie : keywords, headings etc...)

However you can get around this problem by visiting http://www.ragesw.com/index.php who supply tools to modify and improve iweb sites.

Nice site Rob, who's your host?

When i say STOP, I can only mean ONE thing!

Part 1 - Passed Sept 2003
Part 2 - Passed Nov 2003
Part 3 - Failed Aug 2004
Part 3 - Passed Jan 2005

They've been OK, nothing amazing though - I suspect there are better out there.

Re: help with advertising

You can validate your online code here:
http://validator.w3.org/

This is great - thanks, and my iweb-designed site passed the test with no errors or warnings! Wahey! I tested my 5 closet competitors in Nottingham and they all have errors.

That is quite impressive. I am a Mac user of too many years to count now and couldn't contemplate using anything else. The fact iWeb can make a standards compliant site is very impressive.

Re: help with advertising

most of the major hosting companys like 1and1 , 123-reg have a additional hosting option with sitebuilder options.  As the outcome represents your business I'd defo recommend spending additional money for logo's graphics etc to get the best result.  The website represents your business, hence why it needs to be a good job

UK ADI - Driving Instructor Directory http://www.drivinginstructors.co.uk Are you listed?  if not why not as its free

Leg work......print some flyers up and put them through doors during any down time you have.

Just spoke to someone about that and they reckoned one pupil out of every 500 leaflets!

MORE like One in 5 thousand! In my experience.

Re: help with advertising

How about building a Facebook page.....lets face  it we are all on it now, all you need to do, once created is get youre learners to like it then you have all their friends in tow.....so keep up good interesting and fun posts, put your offers and prices, contact details on there, and very quickly it will go on and on etc......it has worked for me, as i have a good few enquireys via my page, the only problem i have is remembering to put posts up on a regular basis.

I'm liking the idea of the website, i have always stayed clear as i am on a franchise with someone, so quite how i could do my own website but then turn up in a different schools car???? It was something i was going to definately do when eventually go out on my own? If anyone can help with this then that would be great, or shall I just wait?
