Re: What bike do you ride?

Bought myself an XV650 Dragstar last year as a bit of a toy.

Managed to put about 200 miles on it, it's got far too much chrome to want to get it wet. Moved to Wales and now having to sell it to cover the fees for the house move.

Oh to be earning 30K!

Re: What bike do you ride?

I have a FZ6 Fazer for weekend blasts.

Really enjoy it. In fact looking to do my IAM this year. Will be a good excuse to use the bike a bit more than I did last year (Thanks to our English Summer!)

Cheers

Re: What bike do you ride?

Hi,
I ride a Vstrom DL1000.  Bought about a yr ago, done 10k already... Really comfy, good on fuel, not to fast, especially for those who's more built for comfort rather than speed..(if you know what I mean).. tongue tongue

Re: What bike do you ride?

Hi Steve W,

Mine is similar to yours - K1200 LT SE on a 'Y' plate bought second hand with just 5k on it - my only sadness is that being fairly busy most days it sits till weekends and then only if I manage to do all that is necessary during the week. An absolute joy - nicely balanced when on the move - can be a handful if in tight situations - reverse gear is handy!

Mine is the one to the left with the little fella sat on it - I am stood in the middle - Photo shoot after a ride to Caen on Portsmouth Lord Mayors appeal raising funds for paramedic bikes in Portsmouth a few years ago - 2002 I think?

Regards,

Re: What bike do you ride?

I haven't had a bike in years, but the good weather and the idea of doing advanced riding as this years CPD is making me think I'll get one. Well I ended up on ebay looking at an ex-police VFR 800. Thing is it might be too high in the saddle. I'm 5'6". neutral

Re: What bike do you ride?

Dont know about the VFR sophie but i'm 5'5 and the fazer is ok for me. I did look at a zx6r but it was a bit of a stretch, however i found that with a small mod, most bikes can be lowered about 40mm which seems to make a huge difference. just glad i didnt have to do it with the fazer.

Like bfb, I have a '99 Thundercat. Great handling and comfortable bike. Now I will be going 2-up, I'm looking into getting something a little bigger, quite fancy a ZX12R

Re: What bike do you ride?

My 650 bandit is great especially as it was £4000 brand new 2 years ago. Dont get me wrong if you want to give me a hyabusa or any larger bike I would take it but I just couldn't justify spending more on a toy which doesn't get used too much...scottish weather.

Re: What bike do you ride?

I recently completed my CBT and my wonderful wife told me she had bought me my first bike. I had dreams of a suzuki or yamaha but instead I got a rather shiny Pioneer Torro.
I'd never heard of it so looked it over, found that all the bolts were loose- apparently an ongoing issue with this model, and it has a top speed of 50mph. otherwise its a great wee bike (bit heavy at over 20 stones) which has given me plenty of pleasure so far and makes me long for the days of being able to overtake. tongue
